Dr. Buichiro WATANABE

Greetings from the College of International Relations (C.I.R.) of Nihon University!

On behalf of our campus community, I thank you for taking an interest in our college. I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about our university, because we are confident in offering exchange students a good, hospitable study-abroad experience.

Because of the academic interests of our college community, our students, faculty and staff members believe that learning about other cultures, countries and languages is crucial to living, working and succeeding in our global society. This is especially true for the College of International Relations, which was established in 1979 as the first of its kind in Japan, when it became one of the schools of Nihon University, which was founded in 1889.

We are proud of our C.I.R. students who devote themselves to helping and communicating with exchange students, who always express their gratitude for our students’ friendship and hospitality.

Our faculty and staff members are committed to student success. Our ultimate goal is to provide, develop and expand classes and good programs for global understanding, and to help students, both domestic and exchange ones, to be able to work in a global economy and community. Our efforts and enthusiasm have been supported by global-minded faculty members, both Japanese nationals and from overseas. Some of our faculty members have earned their degrees at foreign universities, and other faculty members have worked for international cooperation organizations.

We hope you will join us in Mishima, to exchange different ideas, experiences, concepts, values, and cultures, and help expand mutual understanding and global awareness.

I look forward to welcoming you to our College.
